BAND BIO

São Paulo, Brazil, February 2000. Questions was brought together moved by the feeling of mixing the energy and intensity of hardcore music and the strength and agressivity of metal music. The name represents our critical vision towards life: questioning, not accepting anything passively.

São Paulo, Brazil, February 2000. Questions was brought together moved by the feeling of mixing the energy and intensity of hardcore music and the strength and agressivity of metal music. The name represents our critical vision towards life: questioning, not accepting anything passively.

Our first material was a demo-tape named “We Shall Overcome” -released in June 2000-, coinciding with our first gigs around the country. At the end of that year, we shot a promo-video for “Real Enemy”, which was broadcast on a national level by MTV Brasil and Rede Minas. This song was also chosen to be part of a compilation released by Trip Magazine (print run of 100,000 copies).

In 2001, we launched two expressive projects: “São Paulo Hardcore Scene” – the first Latin American home-video that documents a local hardcore scene – and the mini CD “Strength”. Around that time, the band had already become an important name in the national scene. An extensive tour followed, and the band had the chance to share the stage with some seminal hardcore bands such as Agnostic Front and Ratos de Porão. Before the end of that year we shot our second promo-video – for “Strength” - and the home-video “São Paulo Harcore Scene” was broadcast on national television by Rede Minas.

2003 was a memorable year for the band as we were invited to support Sepultura in two opportunities. We also recorded our first full-length CD, “Resista!”, and shot another promo-video (“True Brotherhood”). This record is a faithful register of Questions’ style and it did open lots of doors to the band.

“Resista!” , the first full length cd, was released in 2004. The reviews were great in the Brazilian and international press and underground sites. A video for “Erase” was shot (in 16mm) when the band was the support act for Sepultura in São Paulo, and it was broadcast by Mtv Brasil.

In 2005 Questions played big festivals (including VII Liberation Fest with Caliban) and several shows in Brazil. We also did another 16mm video, this time for the song “Left Behind”.

Last year, Questions had the chance to play with important international hardcore acts such as Terror, Born From Pain, Most Precious Blood, Sick of it All and Madball, which granted the band a constant presence in great events in Brazil.

The recording of the band's second CD “Fight For What You Believe” started in October 2006 and we had the great honor to have Iggor Cavalera (former Sepultura drummer) recording the song “Conscience” with us. The CD just came out in March 2007 on Liberation Music Company.

Also in March, Questions is heading for their first European Tour, an extensive run consisting of 42 shows in 45 days and covering 18 countries.
